On Sunday, December 17, 2017 I was back in St. Louis for Delux Magazine's Power 100 Awards Gala. Every year, the magazine honors the Top 100 Movers and Shakers of St. Louis and this year was nothing shy of amazing with over 800 attendees at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton, MO. It was an honor to be awarded amongst some of the most hard working individuals that I have crossed paths with in my hometown! Thank you Keith Griffin II & the Delux Magazine Family for your dedication to St. Louis!
Yesterday, SLATE (St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment) hosted a remix program to the national acclaimed television show, Shark Tank and I had the opportunity to be a judge alongside 4 other amazing individuals. When I entered into the pitch room I was instantly drawn into shark mode with the instrumental of the show playing loud in the front of the room, I'm a junkie for props and dope moods being set! The entire cohort, which were 7 Dope Black Women, presented their product ideas and start up concepts for a grand prize of receiving their LLC and a Google Chromebook to jumpstart their concept. The entire event was really cool and I am happy that I was involved! I can't wait to see what each one of the ladies does next. Hey Good People! I'm really excited to start the documentation of my journey as I approach Chapter 26, Chapter 25 has been amazing no doubt! I've experienced some life changing highs and I knocked on the doors of some pretty basement lows. But nonetheless, I have embodied a new mantra through it all, "Believe In Your Magic".
It seems pretty cliche at first, but when you learn to navigate your way through tough times and keep your head high even when you don't have a clue what to do next.. it proves itself not to be so cliche after all! Sometimes you have to dig deep to realize the magic that God has blessed you with. Oh yea, I'm pretty spiritual too, so don't be shocked if I talk about God and how good he is to me.
On any given day you can find me giving insight about; Photography, Videography, Branding, Design, Technology, Style, Reviews and who knows what else. This is simply my new home of vulnerability and a space to advance other creatives!
